Topic: Universities in the news: More universities seek autonomy; higher education lowers blood pressure, guns on campus
Summary: The article says that higher education is good for your health as well as your mind. To avoid a heart attack, it's a good idea to lose weight and quit smoking. Perhaps the best cardiac health insurance, however, is going to graduate school. That is the finding of a new study that followed nearly 4,000 people for three decades. Along with the meaning of life and the origin of the universe, college students across the country have another existential question to ponder: the wisdom of allowing guns in class.
Intended audience: Educators, any reader who is interested
Key point: 1. higher education is good for your health as well as your mind
2. question of having guns on campus
Relevance: It is interesting to see that higher education can lower blood pressure. Is that persuading people to go to graduate schools? Just guessing...For guns, I am totally against that should be bring to campus. Campus is a place to study, not a place for violence.
