An Op-Ed on some of the real education that happens in school which has nothing to do with the curricula, and everything to do with the teachers. In this case I found it compelling that the teacher who made such a difference in this person got laid off due to budget cuts and never returned to teach.

This article is relevant to the general population. It is an important reminder that teachers do make a huge difference in the lives of individuals.
